Monocular Thermal Vision Device
The new Pulsar Axion 2 LRF thermal imaging camera is a compact, high performance, optoelectronic device with an integrated precision laser rangefinder.
The Axion 2 XQ thermal imagers use a new approach to image optimisation that delivers a high quality rendering of the target as well as the background, depending on the purpose and conditions from observation. Three levels of signal amplification combined with a linked smoothing filter and fine-tunable brightness and contrast settings give the hunter great opportunities to spot the animal at long range under different weather and temperature conditions and to determine its trophy quality.

High-sensitivity Lynred sensor with built-in precision laser rangefinder
A powerful F35/1.0 lens combined with a high-sensitivity 384x288@17 µm thermal image sensor provides exceptional detection capability. A standard 1.8 m object can be spotted up to 1300 m away in total darkness.
The Axion 2 XQ35 LRF is equipped with a European Lynred sensor with a resolution of 384×288 pixels (pixel size 17 microns), which records a usable quality signal even under difficult observing conditions such as rain, fog and high humidity at the observation site.
Lens with large aperture F35 / 1.0
The F35/1.0 germanium lens offers high transmission in the long wave infrared (LWIR) range.
Thanks to the high-precision manufacturing of the lens’ optical elements, the image produced by the Axion 2 XQ thermal imager’s sensor is characterised by its clarity and detail.
Variable magnification from 2x to 8x
The digital zoom of up to 4x provides improved sharpness and better recognition of an object at long distances. The zoom can be adjusted either gradually in 2x increments or continuously for a truly optimal field of view tailored to the situation.
Field of view over 10 degrees
The Axion 2 XQ thermal imaging devices are suitable for long-range vision, for observation when moving or for moving objects — the linear field of view is 18.2 m at 100 m distance or 10.7° in angular measure. The “Picture in Picture” function activates an additional window at the top edge of the screen, in which the central area of the observed scene is shown enlarged 2x or 4x. In this way, the information content of a wide field of view can be combined with the detailed observation of the selected object.
A choice of 8 color palettes
A choice of 8 color palettes allows the user to better observe their field of view, optimize the device for specific tasks and react to changing observation conditions. White-Hot, Black-Hot and Red-Hot are optimal for detecting an object, Rainbow and Ultramarine increase the chances of detection and identification. Red Monochrome, Sepia and Violet are best for long night observations.
Remote control via a smartphone and software update with the Stream Vision 2 app
The integrated WiFi connects the Axion 2 XQ to Android and iOS smartphones via the Stream Vision 2 mobile application. B. wireless software updates of the device, real-time image transmission from the device to the smartphone screen, posting photo and video content taken with the device on social media or transmission to messenger applications, remote control of digital device functions and access to the latest news from Pulsar. Also, registered users get 16GB of cloud storage for photos and videos captured with the device.
Pocket-sized and lightweight
The Axion 2 XQ has a pocket-sized, space-saving design and weighs 350 grams. The symmetrical design and button placement on the top make the device easy to hold and operate for both right-handed and left-handed users.
High-contrast AMOLED screen
The high-contrast AMOLED screen with VGA resolution has improved color reproduction, is energy-efficient and responsive, and delivers sharp and smooth images even in frost.
Fast commissioning
The Axion 2 XQ is characterized by a short switch-on time: After pressing the ON button, the device is fully functional within 5 seconds. The quick start function helps to save power: the Axion 2 XQ does not have to be kept switched on all the time when hunting, but can be switched on quickly when required.
Waterproof according to IPX7
Waterproof to IPX7 to protect against heavy rain, snow or other types of moisture. The device is designed to function properly even when submerged in water up to 1 meter deep for up to 30 minutes.

Improved Wi-Fi connectivity in the 2.4 / 5 GHz waveband
With the Axion 2 XQ thermal imagers, the frequency range of the standard smartphone connection is supplemented by an effective 5 GHz range via a 2.4 GHz WiFi channel.
The 5 GHz connection provides better bandwidth, faster data transfer rate, noise immunity and improved connection stability, resulting in more productive and easier operation of the thermal imager with a smartphone.
Built-in photo and video recorder
The Axion 2 XQ has a built-in video recorder. The internal memory of the Axion 2 XQ can store hours of videos and tens of thousands of photos. One push of a button is enough to take a picture of an interesting subject or start a video recording. The recordings are copied to a computer hard drive via a USB‑C connection.
Robust magnesium alloy body
The Axion is designed for constant, often tough use. The magnesium alloy body is light and strong at the same time. The housing reliably protects the internal components of a thermal imaging device against shock, falling, moisture, heat or cold. At the same time, the metal housing dissipates heat from the electronics, minimizes image noise and increases the operational stability of the device during long-term observations.
